What the Framework Reveals

A diagnosis isn't a strategy. Most teams stop there anyway.

Teams fill out the four quadrants, present the slide, file the document, and consider the strategic work done. That's the whole problem — a SWOT on its own is a diagnosis, not a strategy. This paper introduces the "SWOT Inversion" principle, borrowed from M&A risk discipline: real strategic value isn't in celebrating strengths, it's in the forensic, unflinching examination of weaknesses and threats — treating a single-sourced component dependency not as a box to check, but as a foreseen risk demanding an actual mitigation plan.
